Abby is the proud owner and clinical lead at Physio Mechanics, with over 20 years of experience helping patients recover from injury and get back to what they love.
While she now spends much of her time leading, mentoring, and developing the team across all three clinics, you may occasionally see Abby in clinic—particularly when supporting complex cases or ensuring continuity of care when needed. Her focus is on delivering high-quality, results-driven rehabilitation while building a team that provides the same standard of care across the board.
Abby is known for her accurate diagnosis, hands-on treatment skills, and ability to quickly identify what’s driving a patient’s symptoms. She focuses not just on short-term relief, but on full rehabilitation and long-term prevention.
She is a qualified Mulligan Practitioner (one of fewer than 60 in New Zealand) and has completed further training in dry needling, exercise therapy, headache and migraine treatment, and orthotic prescription. Abby is also involved in clinical education, supporting the next generation of physiotherapists through AUT.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two young kids and catching up with friends.
Stacey graduated from AUT and now has over 20 years of experience in private practice, working across New Zealand and the UK.
She leads our Karaka clinic and oversees our Pilates and exercise rehabilitation services, combining her passion for movement with a strong focus on helping patients build strength, confidence, and long-term results.
Stacey has a special interest in cancer rehabilitation and is an approved provider through the Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation, supporting individuals through treatment and recovery with tailored exercise and rehabilitation programmes.
She also has extensive experience in chronic pain, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, and a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Stacey is known for her supportive approach and ability to adapt rehabilitation to each individual’s needs and goals.
Outside of the clinic, Stacey enjoys spending time with family and friends, and staying active through sports such as touch rugby, tennis, hiking, and snowboarding.
Richard has over 20 years of experience in private practice since graduating from the University of Otago, with a strong focus on musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.
He leads our Takanini clinic and has a particular interest in both acute and chronic injury management, with a clinical approach centred around identifying the underlying drivers of pain and preventing re-injury long term.
Richard has worked with a wide range of sporting teams, including premier club rugby and football, as well as representative netball, giving him extensive experience in managing high-performance and complex sporting injuries.
He is known for his thorough and analytical approach to assessment and rehabilitation, combining clinical reasoning with practical, results-driven treatment plans.
Outside the clinic, Richard has a strong sporting background himself, having competed in badminton at regional representative level, and participated in a variety of sports including soccer, cricket, water polo, and half marathons. More recently, much of his time outside of work is spent supporting his children’s sporting pursuits, particularly in the swimming and athletics community, where he remains actively involved.
Nikita joined Physio Mechanics in 2018 and has grown into the role of Pukekohe Clinic Manager, leading both the clinical and operational delivery of care within the clinic.
She is passionate about helping people achieve their goals, with a strong focus on restoring full function, reducing pain, and supporting a confident return to work, sport, and everyday life.
Alongside her clinical practice, Nikita has completed postgraduate management training and continues to develop her leadership within the business. She is also trained in dry needling, which she incorporates into her treatment where appropriate to support pain relief and rehabilitation.
Nikita has a strong connection to the football community, maintaining a close understanding of the demands of both training and competition environments.
Her approach is practical, structured, and goal-oriented, with a strong emphasis on long-term results rather than short-term fixes.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, playing piano, yoga, swimming, and spending time at the beach.
Amelia has worked in private practice since graduating in 2002 and brings over two decades of clinical experience across musculoskeletal physiotherapy, chronic pain, and pelvic health. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and a Master of Health Practice (with Distinction), and has developed into one of our senior clinicians with a strong focus on pelvic health rehabilitation for both women and men.
Amelia has extensive experience in managing a wide range of pelvic health conditions, including bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, prolapse, and pre- and post-natal concerns. Her approach is discreet, evidence-based, and highly individualised, with a strong focus on restoring confidence, control, and quality of life.
Alongside her clinical work, Amelia plays a key role in mentoring and developing physiotherapists within the Physio Mechanics team, helping to ensure a consistently high standard of care across all clinics. She is known for her thorough, and practical approach, combining hands-on treatment with clear education and long-term management strategies tailored to each individual.
Helen is a Lead Physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience working across private musculoskeletal practice in both New Zealand and Australia. She has a strong clinical passion for adolescent physiotherapy, supporting young people through injury, growth-related conditions, and return-to-sport rehabilitation and performance. Her approach is engaging, practical, and highly tailored, helping younger patients stay motivated and confident throughout their recovery.
Helen is known for creating structured yet enjoyable rehabilitation programmes that achieve strong outcomes while keeping patients actively involved in their recovery process. Nicci is a South African–born, New Zealand–trained physiotherapist dedicated to helping people move better, feel stronger, and live with less pain through individualised, hands-on care. She takes a practical and supportive approach to rehabilitation, combining targeted treatment with clear strategies to help patients recover from injury, restore function, and reduce the risk of re-injury. Her focus is always on guiding patients step-by-step through their recovery journey with confidence and clarity.

Rochelle has a strong clinical interest in helping patients restore confidence, function, and control through tailored, evidence-based rehabilitation. Her approach combines hands-on treatment, education, and progressive exercise to support long-term recovery and meaningful outcomes. Alongside her pelvic health work, she continues to treat general musculoskeletal and post-injury conditions, with a focus on helping patients return to full function and activity.

Shylvia is a Senior Physiotherapist with a strong interest in clinical Pilates, musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation, delivering hands-on treatment combined with structured exercise-based recovery to help patients return to full function and activity.
Her passion for physiotherapy was first sparked through early experience working alongside a rugby team, where she saw firsthand the impact rehabilitation can have on recovery and performance. Since then, she has developed into an experienced clinician with a strong focus on injury management, rehabilitation, and long-term movement health within the South Auckland community she proudly calls home.
Alongside her clinical work, Shylvia leads our Springboard Pilates classes at the Takanini clinic, using movement-based rehabilitation to support strength, stability, and confidence in recovery. She also plays an important role in clinical supervision of physiotherapy students, helping mentor and develop the next generation of clinicians within Physio Mechanics.

Alice is a Senior Physiotherapist who grew up in Pukekohe and has a strong connection to the local community she now serves. She discovered her passion for physiotherapy during her time at Pukekohe Intermediate and has developed into an engaged clinician focused on helping patients recover from injury and return confidently to full activity.
She plays a key role in our Pukekohe High School clinic and supports local sporting teams, with a strong interest in youth development, injury prevention, and return-to-sport rehabilitation. She is also trained in dry needling, which she uses where appropriate to support recovery and symptom management.
Alongside her clinical work, Alice contributes to our social media and patient education content, helping the community better understand injury, movement, and rehabilitation progress through clear, practical education and real outcomes. Ayesha is a Senior Physiotherapist with over 7 years of clinical experience across hospital and private practice settings in Pakistan, the Maldives, and New Zealand. She holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy qualification and a Master’s in Public Health, bringing a strong clinical and global perspective to her practice.
She has a special interest in both musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy for men and women, providing comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs. Her clinical focus includes injury rehabilitation, pelvic floor dysfunction, sports injuries, chronic pain, and post-surgical recovery. Andrew is our Karaka clinic Chiropractor, who is passionate about helping people improve movement, function, and overall performance through chiropractic care.
His journey into chiropractic began following an injury sustained while working in the UK event management industry. Through his own rehabilitation experience, he not only recovered but noticed significant improvements in energy, movement, and overall wellbeing – an experience that inspired a complete career change into chiropractic.
Andrew graduated from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and continues to regularly attend seminars and advanced training, staying current with ongoing developments in neurology, pain science, headaches, and performance-based care. He takes a strong interest in helping patients improve both physical function and everyday performance, with a focus on restoring movement, reducing pain, and supporting long-term health and resilience. Andrew is known for his genuine enthusiasm for patient care and enjoys seeing people achieve meaningful improvements that allow them to stay active, engaged, and connected within their communities.
Outside of the clinic, Andrew enjoys time on the farm, supporting his daughters in their sporting activities, and spending time with his family.
Originally from Germany, Jens moved to New Zealand over 15 years ago to study at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, where he trained at one of the world’s leading chiropractic institutions. Since graduating, he has built a strong clinical career as a chiropractor, alongside involvement in chiropractic lecturing and research, contributing to the ongoing development of evidence-informed chiropractic practice.
Jens is passionate about helping people improve their function, wellbeing, and overall health expression, with a focus on supporting the body’s ability to move and perform at its best. He brings a calm, analytical approach to care, combining clinical experience with ongoing academic involvement to support patients across a wide range of presentations, from everyday musculoskeletal issues through to performance and function-based care.
Now based in Pukekohe, Jens lives with his wife (also a chiropractor) and their three children.
Karen brings over 30 years of experience in sports and performance massage therapy, with a unique background spanning both human and equine athletes.
Her career includes working with elite-level sport, supporting New Zealand’s first World Championship Gold Medal in endurance riding in 1998, as well as involvement at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 alongside New Zealand’s sole representative dressage rider. These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of performance preparation, recovery, and the demands placed on high-level athletes.
Alongside her sports massage career, Karen has worked in a variety of professional environments including Air New Zealand, while continuing to manage and compete in equestrian sport at a high level with her family. This combination of clinical, sporting, and real-world experience gives her a unique and practical understanding of movement, recovery, and performance needs.
Karen works across all three Physio Mechanics clinics and also provides massage support within our corporate and workplace wellbeing services, delivering high-quality care in both clinical and onsite environments.

Sophie is a highly experienced massage therapist with a strong focus on supporting recovery, reducing pain, and improving movement and overall physical wellbeing. She has developed a strong reputation for delivering effective, hands-on treatment that supports both injury recovery and ongoing musculoskeletal care, with many long-term clients returning for her consistent and results-driven approach.
Her professional training includes a Certificate in Relaxation Massage and a Diploma in Therapeutic and Sports Massage, which she combines with a strong understanding of movement and body mechanics. Sophie has a particular interest in the benefits of regular massage for both recovery and performance, and brings this understanding into her treatment approach to help clients move better and feel better.

Our Pilates and group exercise classes are delivered by a dedicated team of Physiotherapists including Stacey, Helen, Harneet and Livy at Karaka, Shylvia at Takanini, and Stacey and Taijel at Pukekohe.

Harneet is a Physiotherapist with a strong connection to South Auckland, where she has lived her entire life and now enjoys giving back to her local community through physiotherapy care.
She plays a key role in delivering services within our Strathallan school clinic, working with young athletes and students to manage injury, support recovery, and promote long-term movement health. She also leads and delivers Pilates-based rehabilitation classes, helping patients build strength, control, and confidence through structured exercise.
Harneet has developed strong skills in musculoskeletal assessment and diagnosis, allowing her to accurately identify the underlying drivers of injury and guide effective rehabilitation. Her approach combines hands-on treatment with progressive exercise to achieve meaningful and lasting results. She is also trained in dry needling, which she incorporates where appropriate to support pain management and muscle recovery.
Outside of work, Harneet enjoys staying active through football, exploring the outdoors, road trips, and spending time with family and friends.
Taijel is a Physiotherapist with a strong passion for movement-based rehabilitation, helping patients reduce pain, improve function, and return to the activities that are meaningful to them. She has a particular interest in dance and performance-based rehabilitation, supporting both recreational and competitive dancers with injury management, strength, and injury prevention. Her background in dance gives her a unique understanding of the physical demands of performance and the importance of control, technique, and body awareness in recovery.
Taijel is also a Pilates instructor at our Pukekohe clinic, where she delivers structured, exercise-based rehabilitation to support strength, stability, and movement quality. She enjoys using Pilates as a tool to build confidence in movement and support long-term physical resilience. Her clinical approach combines hands-on treatment with targeted exercise and movement retraining to achieve effective and lasting results.
Outside of work, Taijel enjoys dancing and teaching dance, as well as staying active at the gym and spending time outdoors.
Livy has a strong passion for helping people return to the activities they enjoy, whether that’s sport, daily movement, or maintaining an active lifestyle. She works across our Karaka and Pukekohe clinics, supporting patients through injury recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing strength and conditioning. Livy also delivers Pilates and fitness-based rehabilitation classes, using exercise to build strength, improve movement quality, and support long-term health.
Her clinical approach combines hands-on treatment with structured, exercise-based rehabilitation, helping patients regain confidence in their movement and achieve lasting results. Livy has a strong interest in sport and physical activity, with a particular love for netball, and enjoys working with a wide range of patients looking to stay active and perform at their best.
Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, beach walks, fishing, hiking, yoga, and spending time outdoors.

Jane has been part of Physio Mechanics since 2007 and is our Administration Manager, supporting all three clinics and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly. She is often the first friendly face you’ll see at reception in Pukekohe, as well as a helpful voice on the phone assisting patients and staff alike.
Jane is highly valued for her warmth, efficiency, and genuine enjoyment of seeing patients progress through their rehabilitation journey. Outside of work, she leads an active lifestyle and enjoys cycling, and hiking when she gets the chance.
Janine is our Management Assistant, working closely behind the scenes to support operations across all clinics and offsite clinics. She plays an important role in keeping systems, coordination, and clinic support running efficiently.
She is a dedicated mum of three boys and enjoys a rural lifestyle, while also being a reliable and valued support to both the team and patients.
Daryl has lived in the Papakura area all her life and enjoys working in a public-facing role at our Takanini clinic. She is known for her friendly, down-to-earth nature and enjoys supporting patients as they come through the clinic.
In her spare time, Daryl enjoys swimming, snorkeling, walking, reading, crosswords, and gardening, as well as travelling whenever she gets the opportunity.
Mel brings a strong background in administration management across both the healthcare and property sectors. She is highly organised, adaptable, and plays an important role in keeping things running smoothly within the clinic.
She enjoys the front-of-house aspect of her role, building genuine connections with patients and creating a welcoming, supportive environment from the moment they arrive. Mel takes pride in ensuring patients feel comfortable, heard, and well looked after throughout their experience at Physio Mechanics.
Outside of work, Mel enjoys spending quality time with her family and making the most of New Zealand’s beautiful outdoors, whether that’s relaxing at the beach or exploring new places.
Colleen is part of our Karaka administration team, where she supports patients three days a week with her warm and approachable manner. She is known for her excellent communication skills and ability to create a welcoming and relaxed environment at reception.
She enjoys spending weekends supporting her children’s sporting activities, along with long beach walks, creative hobbies, home projects, and spending time with family.
Ange has been part of the Physio Mechanics team since 2021 and brings a calm, caring, and supportive presence to our Karaka clinic. With a strong background in customer care, she is known for her kind nature and willingness to help patients feel comfortable and supported.
Ange has lived locally for many years and values being part of the community. In her spare time, she enjoys nature, walking, cooking, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
Karen has been part of the Physio Mechanics administration team for over 12 years and is based at our Pukekohe clinic. She brings a friendly, welcoming presence to reception and enjoys connecting with patients throughout their care journey.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys an active lifestyle on her lifestyle block, including caring for animals, gardening, yoga, and spending time outdoors. She also loves travelling, entertaining friends, and exploring new places.
Ros is one of the friendly faces you’ll see when you walk through the doors at our Karaka and Pukekohe clinics. She is passionate about making every patient feel welcome and at ease from the moment they arrive or get in touch.
With many years of experience in administration, Ros brings a calm, organised approach to ensuring your experience runs smoothly.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll likely find her pottering in the garden, whipping up something in the kitchen, working on a sewing project, or planning her next adventure abroad.
Vicky is one of our Pukekohe reception team members and is well known for her friendly and engaging customer service style. She has a strong sporting background, having represented internationally in judo, and also enjoys netball and touch rugby.
Outside of work, Vicky enjoys spending time with her family, beach days, boating, tennis, rugby, and exploring New Zealand through travel and hiking. She also has a strong interest in the environment and sustainability.
