The Physio Mechanics Team

Katie Farrell

Lead Physiotherapist

Katie has over 20 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy, with a strong interest in musculoskeletal injury, spinal conditions, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture, which she integrates into her practice to support pain management and recovery.

Katie has a particular interest in pre- and post-natal rehabilitation, working closely with new mothers to support safe return to exercise and functional strength. She is also experienced in managing a wide range of sports-related injuries and enjoys helping people return to the activities they love.

Her background in sport includes extensive involvement in rugby, netball, basketball, and touch – both as a physiotherapist and active participant. This provides her with strong insight into the demands of sport, injury prevention, and return-to-performance pathways.

Katie is known for her practical, down-to-earth approach and her ability to build strong rapport with patients while delivering clear, effective rehabilitation plans.

Outside of work, she enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors through swimming, hiking, and water sports.
